www.ratemyfishtank.com is targeted towards freshwater and saltwater tank owners. It was started on the 28th of last month. Since then it has grown at a fast rate. I'm contacting online stores related to the market for inquiring about advertising on my site. So far I've had one store interested. But as the site grows in size and popularity I'll raise advertising rates. Its is a very targeted group and for that advertising one's online shop that caters to that hobby will only result in traffic and online buys.

I kind of laughed when I first read the post!!! I am glad you are experiencing success, are there any dropshippers for Fish Tank stuff, what about buying yourself and sending it?

This is a very targeted group on the internet, and I am assuming the kind that have a decent amount of cash to "invest" (if you call it investing) in their fish tank.

Are there any fish tank designers, that you could get to write a weekly column. Think about gardners -- watch Martha Stewart for gardening tips.

Hello There I think your website is very informative and professional. What I would do if I was the owner of that site is make a deal with the retail outlets that sell tropical fish and sell them on your site, which could potentially bring in a strong revenue stream or could open the door to new advertisers,. Just an idea.

There is alot of money in it and I think there was a report that fish farming for this hobby is a 40 million dollar industry or soemthing. I'm contacting more shops as the site grows. Right now I'll concentrate on getting the word out.

It seems like a very unique idea (that's a way of putting it). I think the idea entruepenur suggested is a good one. That could certianly help you get going, and make some money. You may want to contact a programmer to add some more features too.

I just added a header. I'm going to be having rotating banners at the top and botton of the website. I'm asking $30 for the top and $20 for the bottom or $45 for both a month. I'm making the banner spots rotating 6 banners a month. As the site traffic increases I'll increase the price for advertising. I'm also adding a forum today to see how fast that takes off.

I too almost laughed when I read it! But I checked the site and it's great! Who programmed it for you? Are you using a program like PHP Nuke with a special block or something?

Anyhow - overall it's a great idea, I really like the looks and some of the tanks are awesome!

Yeah, funny concept but right now i'm working on traffic, tis gone down but I'm trying to bring it back up. I'm using a script used for a hot or not type thing but I modifyed the script for this purpose, it is all php though.

Think of something unique and make sure there is a good sized audience for it. Then come up with the concept. I'm toying with the idea of an adult site right now we'll see tho. I just updated the script 3 days ago and I'm still working out bugs. These new features such as multiple uploads of pics, a new enhanced pm system, integrated forums, and more make repeat traffic ensuring return visitors and repeat uniques by others telling their friends in the aquarium community.

The script is the platinum one from www.i-rater.com these guys work hard to fix your problems, it might take a day or so for emails since they are in ireland but they are honest and do good work.
