Overcoming low Self-Esteem Self-esteem is how much you value yourself. It dictates how much you believe you are capable of. It decides how much of yourself you radiate out to the World, how much you connect with people, the way you interact and express yourself to friends, partners, colleagues, employers, strangers, etc. It is the voice that tells you how capable, unique and worthy you are. Self-esteem is purely an attitude of mind; you create your own self-esteem level, mostly unconsciously, through life experience, reaction to other’s opinions, how others treat you, parenting, friends of influence, social activities, past and current relationships, childhood experiences, etc. The only way to achieve your highest self-esteem level is to take control and know that you are in charge of how you think of yourself. By realising that every person is equal, and just has different forms of talents, passions and goals in life, no one is superior over another; we’re all just people. So by understanding this you may as well adopt a higher level of self-esteem because first of all it just feels better than consciously feel bad. Secondly, when you programme your own self-esteem to a higher level you have every chance of achieving your goals and dreams. They won’t come to a weak mind! Remember that you are equal to every other person in this world. Nobody has power over you; if someone is trying to assume dominance or intellectual superiority over you, that’s purely an expression of their level of self-esteem, colliding with their interpretation of yours. But that doesn’t mean to have to put up with what they’re trying to put on you, give it back and stand your ground! Stand up taller, speak clearly with strength; make yourself heard and don’t shrink away. Consciously stand up tall and straight, walk confidently and with a purpose. Don’t apologise for anything other than what you actually need to apologise for, don’t be sorry for being you! Build your self esteem consciously through your actions A mental method to help you to feel stronger and to overcome and build upon your low self esteem is to imagine each person’s personality as an animal. If, for instance, you were feeling under-confident you would probably be picturing yourself as a mouse and the other person as a tiger, hypothetically. To make a shift and instantly elevate your confidence, turn your mouse into a lion and turn them into a kitten. The problem you had with your under-confidence is that you viewed them as stronger, smarter, superior in whatever way to you, but this is only true in your mind by what you’re allowing yourself to believe. So when you actively swap that image for something more agreeable, and you mentally have the leader viewpoint, you naturally will not allow either yourself or them to make you feel unworthy in any way. You realise that you are equal and everybody has knowledge and talents in different areas, which do not diminish your’s because you’re momentarily intimidated by theirs. Focus on your qualities and strengths, allow no self doubt into your mind and you will see your social behaviour transform and bloom. This also illustrates to you quite clearly how many of your actions and attitudes are influenced directly by your beliefs. Do yourself a favour and make yourself number one. Taking priority for yourself is not an act of selfishness; it is absolutely necessary to function properly as a healthy person! By looking after and valuing yourself, by loving who you are wholly and completely you have more energy and zest for life. This increases your happiness, fills you with love, allows you to perform 1000 times better and you have more of yourself to give away and help others with. The formula to success.
First you need to have a heart to heart with yourself. Decide what it is that you really want. The thing that sets your soul on fire, makes you jump out of bed in the morning, not want to go to bed at night. The thing that runs through your mind all the time. Your mission or your purpose. What is it? You need to know what it is and who you are before you can even attempt to be successful at anything, because it must come from your heart. This means listening only to your true desires and absolutely tuning out the negative chatter that’s bound to pop up from your ‘head’, your family, your worries, your friends, your doubts, fears, etc. Remember that the greatest achievements in this world only took place after overcoming massive adversities, so don’t let the lie of the present ‘reality’ fool you. That fact is that you create your future by your actions and your independently directed thoughts. It is not dictated by your past, your present or anybody else’s opinion of you. Time passes and things happen anyway, isn’t it better for you to decide and take control rather than falling victim to unconscious default?

Secondly, once you know what it is you really want, make an action plan. You will never get where you’re going, or know if you’ve arrived if you haven’t planned out the destination and marked milestones. Choose a viable business model with all the correct components which will conspire to your success, commit and set your plan into motion.

Third, Create your vision and start putting your desires out there to the universe and start attracting your desires to you. Get images, words, pictures, everything you can of what it is you want to achieve, where you want to go, the things you want to acquire along the way, people you want to meet, things you want to experience, and put them all up on a vision board where you can see them every day. Keep them there so you will engrain them on your subconscious. Your job as an entrepreneur in the information marketing business is to give value, value, value. Full stop. This is for two reasons; firstly because people hate being sold to, or propositioned or pitched. If somebody needs something that you’re selling then you must come across in an empathetic manner, giving them value, education and information on, for instance, your experience of the pain they are feeling regarding a situation that you can heal, how you overcame that situation, the things they must do to overcome their situation, then give them the benefits of doing so. Make sure all the information is geared towards them, people will only be searching/ reading for a thing because they want to know what’s in it for them, they don’t want to know about you and how well you’re doing, etc. They need to feel suitably enlightened after reading/watching/hearing your material as their first point of contact with you so that they can trust you, see you’re knowledgeable in this area that they need help with. All people (especially when new to a particular thing) need to follow leaders, so you must become that leader, and leaders don’t sell for their own means, they lead and shine the light for the soon-to-be-educated and help them get what they want, this is the purpose of the information marketing business. By focusing on this your quality as a leader and marketer will rise above the masses who don’t understand this, and your success will be a by-product of your follower’s success. Life is a series of growing mountains
Have you ever worked so hard to achieve a thing in your life, and you were so proud when you got there, but that high only lasted so long, then you felt unfulfilled, or fidgety again? So many people believe that their dream life is about being able to retire early and spend all their time on a beach supping cocktails all day. If that were reality you’d actually be bored, dehydrated, drunk and wrinkly before long! As human beings, we have spent our whole lives up to this point growing and evolving- individually in our own lives, and as a race, and what so many people don’t understand is that this is what we are here for. This is our purpose; if the motion and evolution stopped we would die. As Anthony Robbins says “When you don’t grow you die”. It’s the most fulfilling feeling in the world to overcome a personal challenge, succeed in the thing you’ve spent months working at, tackling a personal fear, getting better and better at thing as you gain more experience, growing together in a relationship and taking it to higher levels all the time, having children, nurturing them to grow, building a business, improving your fitness and health, etc, etc. Growth is where we thrive, but it is a never ending chain. When you climb one mountain you can only sit at the top waving your flag for so long before you get bored and hungry. So you move onto the next peak, which is even bigger and more challenging, but think of how strong you will have become by the time you reach that success peak. Then you look back and you see how much higher, stronger, weathered, experienced and wise you are in comparison to the masses left behind who decided to stop climbing and set up camp permanently peaks and peaks and peaks ago. Then they have the cheek to shout up to you that you got lucky, maybe you’re wearing better shoes, or something ridiculous.

But then with climbing all these peaks and mountains will inevitably bring stumbles, falls, bad weather, storm, droughts and hunger, fatigue, enormous obstacles, bears, insects, bites and stings. But what these things are for is to toughen you, strengthen your resolve and self belief, bring you experience and knowledge to help others who follow, test your perseverance and your true desire. You must earn the right to get to the top, and if you let these challenges and obstacles get the better of you, or worse, make you give up, you can never reach the top. You set your limit, you decide how high you want to climb, you decide if your life is in your hands and under your control and absolutely your responsibility, or you can decide to blame others, be a victim and surrender the luxury of being able to decide where you want to go in life.

You’re not defined by the amount of times you fall or trip, or make mistakes, take the wrong path. You’re defined by your ability and strength of character and belief to carry on regardless of what illusion ‘reality’ is deciding to show up to you as at that point.....

In the current economy times are challenging for young entrepreneurs, but with every recession, as bleak as things are for some, they are to the opposite extreme as prosperous- providing you’re in the right business! Hundreds of young entrepreneurs are thriving across the world as they enter the expanding world of internet marketing during our information age.

In my own experience in my start-up women’s wear clothing business I have found that brick and mortar businesses are expensive- more expensive than you think- extremely time consuming and emotionally draining, taking a harsh toll on all relationships and your bank account. Now, we all expect this as new entrepreneurs, and brace ourselves for it knowing that it will be worth it when we get the time freedom and financial freedom to enjoy the fruits of our labour. For the few who get to this point it’s extremely rewarding, but the process of doing so takes years, and usually relationships, bodies, health and habits are sacrificed along the way, and what is increasing found is that you develop ‘workaholism’, and turn into work obsessed robots, so even if we do achieve our financial freedom, we can’t enjoy it because we’ve lost our personality along the way thanks to pressure, responsibility, managing, financial woes, lack of sleep, mistakes and determination to succeed! Thankfully, due to the rise of our magnificent ‘internet age’, there is salvation, and who better to dominate this industry than the ones in the age group who first grew up with new technology, the ones who invented the text language, mastered tamagotchis, play stations, mobile phones, computers, etc, etc. we grew up mastering these machines, so it makes sense that we put our expertise and energies to work for us in business, reaching millions globally, bringing in multiple, multiple zeros in such a short amount of time that you would never be able to elsewhere, doesn’t it?...

Of course this takes personal development, personal paradigm shifts and inner work, but it’s always a working progress and you never get the point where you say “I’m there!”, you just keep climbing, so there’s nothing stopping you from starting now, as they say “practice makes perfect!”.
