So I noticed that all the location threads are for big cities only. Well I'm in upstate New York where we have corn fields and Amish buggies.

I've noticed that it's a little hard finding quality partners in such a small population. Anybody else from rural areas? What kind of challenges do you face?

    Interesting,

I know what you mean, I have always lived in rural areas, but the migration north has driven me upstate in 10 mile increments every few years. lol The internet is the only way to build a business beyond your limited boundaries of your local area.

I started a small local business years back and then when I saw the internet, I knew this was the future, and transferred my business to an online service and grew it to almost 10,000 clients in just over a year. Not selling online, but providing free information which cultivated the trust few had in the early days dealing online.

So if I was to offer any advice, it is simple, give to recieve. I focus on recession proof businesses, and given you mentioned Amish, and since I grew up in PA as kid, we had plenty of Amish in area, and recently I was introduced to a rather unique new business, Organic Acres, a vitual home garden without the need for a home. With so many going organic, or green movement overall, this has been my focus, and who wouldn't want fresh organic produce delivered to their door from their own custom garden without getting their hands dirty, weeding, feeding and breaking your back?

I am focusing on marketing it to NYC residents who are paying a fortune for organic produce in their local stores. In fact, learning of one organic grocery store financial reports, they were earning a hundred times more profit per sq. ft. than traditional super markets, so talk about huge demand and profit, this is the business everyone should look into. And it is FREE to register, and when every discovers you can earn FREE food, with only passive effort, this should be a winner in the home business arena.

    Success to all, Mike

I'm also in the "going green" business. The Inc. 500 company I'm partnered with actually supports me wonderfully with with a very modern easy to use website.

But I still prefer to look for partners within a 2 hour drive. I think it is important to be able to assit and train hands on.
