Hello from Long Island, New York
Hello fellow Young Entrepreneurs,

My name is Kim and as the title states I am coming to you from the fine state of New York. I am currently running a successful virtual business assistance from my home here in New York. I have been a virtual business assistant for just under 2 years now and have about 12 years experience in bookkeeping and administrative support services and about 2 years of experience in internet marketing.

I have been lurking around for the past couple of weeks and decided it was about time that I joined in on the fun.

This forum looks like a great place to meet some new people and network and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

Regards,
Kim

Hello Kim.
I'm Deelip.
From Kathmandu. Your work seems interesting.
Would you mind explaining me a bit about what actually virtual business assistance? I mean can you give me a clearer example of work?
I am also a Internet Marketer btw, but I'm just starting.

Hi Deelip, thanks for your response.

Sure, I am an internet marketer as well. Basically I am an entrepreneur as well and what I do is help small businesses and entrepreneurs like yourself with administrative tasks and mundane tasks that take them away from running their businesses. For example, I help some businesses with their internet marketing by writing and submitting articles, blog posts, etc. or help to manage their PPC accounts, update their websites, blogs, etc. Or I do bookkeeping tasks like AR, AP, payroll, create W2's, etc. I may create letters or proposals, manage their human resources, project manage a team of employees, etc.

I am basically like a girl Friday, your right hand man that manages and gets the job done for you, if I can't do it I know somebody who can. This lets you focus on what you do best, running and growing your business.

Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you have any additional questions I would be glad to offer another explanation.

Regards,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Glad to meet another Long Islander! I'm actually about to graduate from Hofstra this December.
You do some PPC work? I have just started to read up on doing Google AdWords advertising. I find that it is tough starting out but I am guessing that you catch on after enough trial and error.

Welcome to the forums, nice to have you here. Yes, PPC can be a bit tricky and does take some experience getting used to it. Read all you can about and feel free to ask any questions on the forum in the appropriate area and we can help.

Kim, I was actually in Manhattan a couple of weeks ago, "Little Italy" to be exact with my business partner. Nice food, good wine, but not as good as Montreal
I was wondering what you opinion is, concerning Internet marketing, on free based marketing approaches versus fee based marketing approaches. I am also an avid Internet Marketer and would like to get feedback from professionals in the field to see where the current trends are heading.

Yes, Montreal, is a beautiful city, and clean :-) much cleaner then NY.

Your marketing approach is some what dependent on the niche that you are in. I work in some niches and I use free advertising only through article marketing, press releases, etc and it works wonders other niches are not so responsive to this approach. Video markeitng is very effective for getting your message across and aside from labor costs is free and effective. Social bookmarking and networking is effective at driving traffic but not necessarily targeted traffic. Hopefully others will respond with their thoughts.

Welcome to the forums.

Kim
