When you say research do you mean researching what industry to go into or researching how to start a business?

You could try browing the book store...you may find a book that is helpful...and one that gives sites or subjects to research...just something to get you started.

Entrepreneur.com has many great resources and new business ideas.

Have you decided on a specific area or product you want to focus on yet?

    what's your business?
You can refer to the same business what others are doing now to guide you.
    This is very effective

You need to think wider than online resources, Google has a LOT of information but very little valuable knowledge. After all, if everyone can access the same information as you how are you going to differentiate your business?

A great source of info are business libraries, a good one will hold all major publications that contain research that companies usually pay £1000's for and base a lot of there decision on. You definitely can't get this info on Google!

And of course, once you get to this level of detail, nothing is better that getting out there and talking to the customer how you hope will buy your product.

Don't always start with a business plan. I think you need to be more specific on the business you are trying to start. Your business plan might change drastically once you reach the end of your process.

Read book, free e-book, talk to people, get out there and make things happen. Its the only way you get true knowledge and stand out.
