What do you think about my idea?

I just thought about it so its brand new. Presentations can make or break a deal or a job. I have seen so many awful presentations that make even the smartest people look like they don't have a clue so my idea is a powerpoint and presentation creator. The customer pays for a presentation package.

    Basic- Just the powerpoint
    Pro- Powerpoint + Cue Cards
    Expert- powerpoint+cue cards+ video demonstration.

    Please be honest! Thanks!

To add because it is unclear. I would make the presentations. I enjoy and am talented at creating and presenting power point presentations.

I think this is interesting. I've seen a lot of bad powerpoint presentations and I would love for someone to help these people out. However, who would you be making them for? And will people be willing to pay?

I think this would be a "nice to have" thing, but not something that people would generally pay extra for. Those who make casual presentations won't be willing to pay, and those who do it more often probably have the basic tools to get the job done. Who would your target customer be and what would be your pitch to them?

You know what? This is a great business idea. In fact, I have previously paid freelancers on Elance to get presentations for my business done.

What you need to do apart from showing the great designs is that you must showcase good summarizing skills as well. To have a headstart, I suggest you to list your service at various freelancing sites like Elance, Guru.com and some other classified sites.

Setting up your own website will also provide you with the credibility and a place for you to showcase the work that you have done.

You're probably not going to sell this one to Google for $100M, but it seems like a viable business. I agree with Wayne - get rolling with eLance and Guru, post up some examples, and get rolling.

The real question is - how much throughput can you handle between doing the work and marketing yourself, and at full capacity, does that make enough money to make it interesting to you? If not, then how hard is it to train new folks to do what you do so well, or take over some of the promotion activity, or both?

Sorry for the delay folks I was on vacay for the week. Yes I would definitely have to have some previous examples that I will showcase on the site to show. Thank you for the responses and the idea for the freelancing sites. I need to figure out what people would pay for a good presentation.

    ilike to be honest.

This third option is the best one.
    Expert- powerpoint+cue cards+ video demonstration.

But still I suggest do not stop searching all abouy presentation and animations tecniques, always there is something new to apply and innovative.

    Thumbs up

Sounds like a great idea! But although I have seen great presentations, the actual person talking is very very boring

What scale would you do it on? & Would you provide all equipment, screens, projectors, lights, etc? Or just design the software aspect?

Here's another angle you could do - what about making power-point presentations/videos for people's birthdays? Weddings? Anniversaries? My brother did some semi-professional work for a 21st. It had pictures provided by the guys family, some family video & music, etc and lasted about 10 minutes. He did this for free (&fun), and the result was very, very effective. At the end he handed it to the person on a DVD to keep, which was nice.

Just asking around to some family members who aren't so skilled on computers, but saw some of the results, said that they would probably pay anywhere from $400.00 to an excess of $1000.00+ for great quality presentations that they could keep.
