Well you need many things for a Start-Up Online Business. Good thing for you the the US government loves Small Business (especially the Democrats).

Go to SBA.gov

Also I would suggest reading a couple books on the subject, and the industry you want to join before you put money into a small business.

Define what business you want to be in; why you think people will do business with you instead of those they currently do business with; and how you will market your company. With this, I can start advicing accordingly. Of course, there are many sides to running a business, and starting with the right infrastructure in place is just one of those issues.

One of my businesses imprts and exports all over the world, so I will be able to share some of my experieces, as well as some of the pitfalls and short cuts.

Some things you need to take into consideration.

I have a small import business myself but since I'm from another country my advice isn't the optimal.

- Laws
- Providers
- Shipping
- Customs and Taxes
- Interests
- Market

Be wary of importing stuff from asia, lots of cheap junk, your customers will hate you for it.

Also, from a moral standpoint, I am against incorporating in states outside of my own, I realize this is a common practice these days, but as a small business owner, I am proud to support my own home state with my tax dollars, even if I did save a few bucks, or have the laws in my favor in another state, I just don't view it as an ethical practice, just my 2 cents, not trying to ruffle any feathers.

Hi UNSEENFORCEZ,

If you want to start a business, it is pretty simple to register a business name at your local county court house.

Thanks for replies

I would have liked to incorporate outside of my state.I was even considering moving to Nevada for a while and staying with a friend.NC is taxed to death as it is.Id rather support a more decent governing state than my own.But it doesn't look like its gonn abe benefical for me to start out that way,The government has all the angles to get your money somehow, thats what its there for
