Starting a new lifestyle webzine need help...
my main obstacle is finding the right name...I have plenty of contenders, but nothing i could settle on. here are my ideas:
All Things Fresh
Sweet/The Sweet Life
The Dope Show
Whats The Hype/Hyped
Culture Shock
Buck Fifty
Filthy/Filthy Rich
Hush/Hush Money
Bank
April Fool
Knuckle
Ignorant
Nitwit
based off the selection of names I provided one can determine that I am going for an edgier, more underground, urban sort of feel. tell me what you think...marketability, appeal, spark, all that
feedback por favor!

Who are you attempting to appeal to? What age, income?
I know you want an urban underground feel, but depending on what age and income-type of people you want... you're going to want a name that they relate to
So if I was to assume you're directing your appeal and marking towards people with lots of dispensible income, judging by the titles "Filthy Rich/Filthy" that sort of deal. I would focus more on hitting home for these individuals.
The one that really slaps me in the face is The Sweet Life, but then again I'm not who you're appealing to

From the names alone, I have no idea for image you are trying to go. What type of magazine is it?

lol well let me clarify my demographic:
They are between the ages of 18-28 ish...College students, grad students. Their income? more than likely limited...I understand it may be confusing to have a blog titled Filthy Rich when I am not, and my audience isn't...I'm mainly going for the connotations behind the phrase, not necessarily describing something (the dichotomy of Filthy and Rich)...
As far as the type of magazine, it's going to be a lifestyle zine that covers the things I'm interested in: independent fashion designers, local musical acts, current events, fashion trends, light gossip, skateboarding, local events, party scenes, stories relevant to me and my area
as far as the feel and vibe of the whole thing, think grunge, dirty, underground, trippy...nothing clean, nothing safe, nothing mainstream. hip, edgy...something that you could see translated onto a T Shirt.
OR think candy coated...sweet, confection, pastry
what about "The Sour Patch" ... i love those candies, and the "sour" sort of adds the edge.
more feedback!

I am liking "The Sour Patch" a lot more now that I am on a similar level.
I'd try for something that kind of touches them. Something that they feel.
Haha I can't help but get a feeling that you are a raver
<-- Loves 'em.

I probably should talk to some of my friends...I guess that's my next step.
I like "The Sour Patch" too lol
I wouldn't call myself a raver lol, but I am definitely interested in names that sort of have a drug reference...like I was considering "Purple Blitz"...that sounds like a drug...i also liked "Kush" a play on "cushy" but also a synonym for weed lol
any more ideas and input are welcome!

Great idea! Just make sure you set aside enough money to pay your attorney to defend Cadbury's trademark infringement lawsuit against you.
Seriously though, you're just asking for trouble ripping a name like that. Be creative and use your imagination, your OWN imagination, not Cadbury's.

@ Jmeng: you think "The Sour Patch" would be an infringement on "Sour Patch Kids" ?? no sarcasm intended...honest question
@ Zoobie: it's not entirely directed at women...i understand it may be confusing when i say things like "fashion" ect, but the fashion I want to cover includes streetwear brands like The Hundreds...most streetwear brands don't even or marginally cater to ladies...it's going to be pretty well rounded. also the ideas i have are listed above
