As I have posted on this site before, I had an Idea to open and online store that buys, sells, and trades Ski and Snowboard equipment, and would hopefully expand to sell all types of sporting goods. I want people to be able to trade in their used equipment, and use the either credit, or cash they recieve towards either new, or used skis in our inventory.

I am looking to carry both new and used skis in our inventory, the used skis being those that were already traded. I am hoping to get the new skis dropshipped.

If this site takes of, then I would also like to build a twin site called surf swap that would deal with surfing gear.

I have a few questions concerning the general setup:

- Does anyone have any experience with Infopia Commerce software?? I really like their trade in calculator http://www.infopia.com/website/
An example of a site that uses Infopia is: http://www.trademygun.com/

- How much do you think It would cost to get this started? I would have to have an inventory of new and used skis.

-Are there any hidden costs that I should know about, besides advertising?

-Anyone interested in investing, or can anyone find me a good place to locate investors?

-Is this a good idea?

i often times have thought about a company like this one. It seems to be a good idea because this kind of equipment does cost a lot of money and is often times resold. You might want to offer some kind of quality guarentee because some people are sketchy about buying used equipment without seeing it in person.

I was thinking something along those lines, and maybe also we could do a little reconditioning/ tuning to them when we recieve them before reselling them.
