Have you done a market analysis to determine whether this is even a viable opportunity?

You need to make sure that there is a sufficent customer base to support a rink. The rinks I have been to (I live in TX so there are not many) require a large facility and specialized equipment. It will take a fairly large investment just to get one built and operating. If it were me, I would start by talking with an existing rink owner. Don't tell him/her that you want to start one, just that your interested in the business. Most small buisness owners love to talk about what they do.

It is a large investment even if you are renting a building and it does not seem to be a significant money maker: The rent/mortgage will eat up most of the profit. You need to do a feasibility plan then a business plan. I always suggest going to the SBA, even at a young age because they can teach you about things like this. Good luck to you and welcome to the site

First question : do you have any capital at all ? Because, obviously, a project like that will require several hundred of thousands of $$$ of your OWN cash (say if the project costs $5M, figure out at least $1M for yourself : the bank is just not going to give you a cent and probably will not even look at you if you do not chip in massively, even less if you do not have : money, assets, backup and experience in this). It's a nice dream, but way too big if its your first business project, unless you have rich, rich, rich very good friends (forget about business partners, if you do not chip in, they will not be interested)
Do not give it up, but may be trying to Time travel before you can walk.
