Outsourcing accounting to offshore firm

Hello, I run a small a small online retail service. I am looking for cheap way to maintain our books without having. Do any of you have the experience of working with an offshore provider? If yes would anyone recommend one to me.

I own a similar business and am currently working with Integra Global Solutions. The company is based out of Pennsylvania with operations in India. I have been working with this company for 1 year, they are good and deliver on time and have been a reliable provider. I was skeptical about outsourcing initially, but it has worked out rather well. Their Website is globalintegra.com.

Eeekkk.. why do the words “cheap” and “outsource over seas” scare me when I hear you are talking about your accounting? This is one of the single most important aspects of your business. It may be dependent on the size of your company but I would refuse to work with someone I could not easily meet with face to face when I need too.

I'd make sure that this outsourced accounting firm abides by GAAP, as well as an idea of how to work with the much much more stringent Sarbannes Oxley act (only required for publicly traded companies).

I have to agree. When it comes to accounting, you generally get what you pay for. Why would you want someone in India running aspects of your business that have to be run according to the laws of your own country?

My company outsources its accounting to a local firm. It only costs about $200/month. Depending on your business practices and the firm you choose, it can cost either more or less. I would at least check out several local firms to see what they can offer you and the cost, if you haven't done so yet.

I agree I pay a $2000 a year retainer for my Corporate CPA, $100 per month to the women who does may bank rec and I spend about $1000 per year with a local CPA when I have problems that my office manager tends to create. Total = $4200 or $350 per month. I just can’t see that at anytime in the near future I would outsource this to India
