New Electronics Company (Primarily Wireless Audio Systems)

I just wanted to get people's opinions on the potential of starting a company that would manufacture wireless audio systems. The objectives of the company would be to produce a high quality product which is as consumer friendly as possible.

I personally think the hardest part would be developing a brand that the consumer will recognize.

Let me know whether you think a company like this could prosper.

With Wireless Audio systems you lose quality of sound due to the fact that that you are not applying a direct cable connection from the amplifier to the speaker. Some new audio systems employee the technology needed to ensure a high quality audio experience, but they are expensive. Give it 3-5 years and it will be as prevelent as plasma screen TVs are now. (Did you know that Plasma TVs have been around since the early 80's they just cost $500,000 to manufactor back then)

This type of company would be profitable, but you would need a very large initial invest to design, patent, and eventually manufactor this high quality of a product. Why do you think large conglomorates that have an annual R & D budget of a couple billion dollars are always the first to get these technologies?

Great Idea, but I this ones already covered.

I am pretty sure there is enough technology already.

I could be wrong but I think I can make it work.

Don't really want to let on too much though.

Your better off buying a product that has already been manufactured then putting your brand name on it, It will save so much hassle and money. Asia already have all the technology you need.

Any company that has manufactured a product will have patents in most countries not just asia. In therory it has to be 40% different. Just to have a new product like that developed your looking at well over 100 grand just for a proto type then your looking at approx 12grand for a patent in each country you want to sell it in. Only get a product developed if it's never been done before or you have a whole lot of cash. Your better off either putting your brand and logo on there casing or designing a casing to fit around there product.
