New Electronic for Computers
I invented a new electronic equipment for Computers. My plan is to put it in every computer brand like, Dell, Hp, Gateway etc.. So basically what i want to do is kind of like Microsoft, they have their software installed in all computers except my product isnt a software. The problem is I dont know anything about electronics or have any money to build a prototype. But I know this will be the next BIG thing people will use especially for INTERNET USERS. I thought about this 2 years ago when i had problems online, i said "why cant they make stuff like this so itll be easier" even today that idea still not out there. I think it's time to make a move. What should i do now? How should i start this? Can this product come to life without me spending so much paying people to make this? The only thing that comes to my mind is. If i have no money i guess the only way, .....is to sell this idea but i really dont want to do that. Any advice?

If you have it patented, let me have more details via email (sam@izly.co.uk).
I have some very good contacts in the computer manufacturing business. If its of interest to them, then I could help out on the prototype.
We can discuss the details privately.

I doubt he has the money for a patent.
My advice...pitch the idea and shoot for a percentage of the revenues made from the product.

If its not patented, we can discuss it under an NDA.

It doesnt have to cost that much (200-300 US). as long as you file it your self.

Sam, i researched the patent thing, it sounds more complicated than i thought. what do u mean by i should file it myself? I think they said it has to be proffesionaly done. Meaning i need someone to blueprint the idea and write 10 paragraphs about every detail of the idea.

Patenting is rather complicated, time consuming, and usually costly. I'd recommend speaking to some people after they agree to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement, meaning they are legally bound to hold everything said during your conversation in confidentiality). You can pitch this to software/computer/tech companies right now. Just remember to get the NDA signed and they wouldn't steal your idea.

The NDA offers you only very limited protection. Having been through this route myself a few years ago. Specially with the larger firms, who will hand over your NDA to their legals, who will only dillute it to insignificance.
You need desings and descriptions for each part of the product to file the patent. That is it. take a look at some existing patent applications for inspiration. you're trying to bootstrap this, so you have to do the work your self. if it doesnt meet with the patent office's approval, then you can work on it and represent it again and again until you have it done.
Yes, its better to have it professionally done, but the last world patent I paid for cost me over USD 32,000 through my IP attorneys, Urquhart Dykes & Lord.
So its best to do it your self for now and then look at having it redone by a professional as soon as you can afford to.
Yes, it will be time consuming, but its worth investing time into your venture; isnt it?
Inventors are not affraid of hard work.

so sam where did u get the $200-300? maybe thats the provisional patent. as i research more i found that to get a patent issued will cost around $6000-$8000k especially if the invention is complicated like electronic or software...thats too much of money. man i think u have to be rich to be richer. lol. how can a poor pay 8k for an invention.
$6k-8k do they only charge you that much after they approved your invention? or do they charge that much even if it will get rejected?
