K,
Stick to what you know. If you were in the pharmaceutical industry, could you offer consulting for the job you did? Did your prior job have one special and unique aspect to it that you could offer guidance and professional advice on? Also, maybe the answer lies not in you being the center of the business service, but rather build a site that allows people to share ideas, research topics, findings, etc.
For example, I live in Boston, one of the health care meccas, there are some of the world's biggest hospitals, Harvard Medical School, Dana Farber research, Joslin Diabetes clinic, BioGen, etc etc etc. While they all belong to their respective academic journals, boards, and what have you, maybe a blog or some form of local site that researchers/doctors/pharmacists would go to and share various things with each other. Anything from true academic topics, to social topics, to a forum just for venting about new laws or regulations etc. The way you could get revenue from this is to affiliate with area health care related entities, and you could advertise, etc. which could lead to more.
Just a very quick thought. Hope it at least sparks something.
Best
Guy
