    My business idea

Hello, I am new to this site and found it very interactive, that's why I joined. I am trying to start up an online sports website business that will attract readers and sports fans from everywhere. I have three members willing to contribute to the site which will include breaking news, game recaps, standings, stories, sports betting page, blog and message boards. I want to make an interactive site for sports fans and drive traffic upon traffic. Eventually after getting visitors and recognition I will add a recruiting aspect to my page for high school athletes possibly looking to play in college. I will make a profile for them and help get their name out there by sending their profiles to the top 5 colleges of their choice. Let me know if I have something going here and If you guys have any suggestions on how I can start making profit from the site. Thanks a lot.

There are ways to make money from websites including but not limited to the following.

    1) Google Adsense or other Advertising PPC "pay per click", different programs are better for different types of websites.

    2) Sell ad space "best way I would think"

    3) Website membership options

There are more options available however these seem to be the more ideal methods that are used frequently.

If you are in need of a custom website feel free to send me a private message, I can offer solutions fit for your vision.

    Thanks for your time.

In my opinion, instead of setting the website up to be about sports in general, you need to move down the topic and find yourself a more targeted niche such as college football, veteran golf or college basketball. This is because it is hard to find a unique voice if you enter a broad niche like sports or football.

Yes, there is a market for this topic because people do read sports reports, buy sports equipment and interact with other sports fans online.

    Thumbs down

Yeah, I don't know if I like the sound of this one... like when you say you are going to send their names to the top 5 colleges, why would they want to consider your reference specifically? Don't you think they already get swamped by many applicants already?

Would the focus be on high-school sport then? And the development of?

Maybe having a section where you can link expert coaching with high-school students that want to develop their skills might be cool, listing coaching sessions, prices etc. Generate some business for sports coaches who may be very talented but their networks aren't very big, and having a central site where they can operate out of might be useful.

Its a great idea to start with.Iam sure when actually begin executing, there are going to be enhancements resulting probably in a better site than you can imagine right now.The toughest part is the beginning.Start implementing what you have in your mind right now.

    Wishing you my sincere greetings.
