Looking for Fashion Partners
This is an ad for serious fashion minded females and males only.. I am a 22 year old female from Atlanta, GA looking to start a new business. I have a few plans in mind for a fashion magazine.(also thinking about a shoe line or make up line) Looking for more creative individuals to bring their fashion minds together. Have you every wanted to be apart of the fashion world? I know I have. Over the years I have been putting these plans and thoughts into my mind and as of right now in 2008 I am ready to make these thoughts or dreams come into play… I am looking for business partners to create a team of self promoters to get this fashion business; most likely a magazine off to a good start. I know that New York is the fashion capital of the world so any interested parties will need to be willing to relocate eventually to one of the following states: New York ( Manhattan area) Florida (Miami area) or California ( Los Angeles/Beverly Hills). Once the business set grows and a decision is made on what type of business will be in forced then the location on where to set up shop will be decided on. I am looking for creative people, your background or where you come from, you situation will not prevent you from become apart of this great business plan that is about to get started. I am a 22 year old single mother of a 4 year old son so females who are interested in this with kids do not let them hold you back…as you can also see I am young the fashion world needs young creative ideas. The age group I am seeking will be from 21-30. If you want to know more about this great plan or want to become apart of something great then send me a email and let’s get started. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from all the creative minds.

I'd like to say "wow, great plan" but I didn't hear a plan...
You want to start a magazine? that's the plan?
are you currently a part of the fashion world or have some connections into the unique workings of the fashion industry?
I don't want to be sounding negative or discouraging but do you have any idea what it takes to start a magazine and to make one successful?
WOuldn't it be better if you wrote for a fashion magazine or, even worked in the mail room before you decide to go out and jst start a magazine? It's a nice aspiration and all and i wish you the best of luck but I'd think a more realistic first goal might be in order...

I like your enthusiasm. You don't have to start big. You could start with some fancy socks or something to just get in the market. I have a fashion product I will be launching one of these days and made my prototypes from visiting all the stores in the fashion district in NYC
The main comment I want to make is it generally takes 10 years for a magazine to become profitable. I learned that with all the talk of the debut of George magazine by John F. Kennedy Jr. I was shocked that the estimate was 10 yrs. for profit, even with him starting the magazine....so be careful.
A magazine does not have to be in print though. An online magazine can be a different and easier story. Maybe try that? Good luck!!!!

Have you looked for partners through people you know? People you have met along th way? I don't necessarily think that finding a partner on the web for such a big project is the best idea. However, that is a personal opinion.
To answer Ahern, She said that she has a few plans that she'd been working on over the last few years. So she has put some thought into this.
If you don't have the experience, I personally think that is ok, if you are the driven, innovative type, you'll be able to figure it out along the way. I know that is not always true, but what's ever guaranteed as an entrepreneur. If you do go forward with this magazine I would definitely like to contribute whatever I can and be a part of it. I think Masapparel would too, we are both in the fashion world, myself, not to far outside NYC.
Definitely keep us updated. Good online magazines can be VERY profitable too.

As most have said, it sounds like a pretty big plan for starting out, but if you have a business plan, I'd love to take a look! Good luck
