whoa those revisions are terrible. all you did was add a bevel emboss.
ss, you need the logo done by somebody that knows what a vector image is. an actual designer, not some photoshop filter hack. i dont know what your company does but ill put a variation together for you when i get a chance later tonight based on its current design.

I guess I don't see much of a problem with the original one. Seems OK to me - but I don't know much about your business either so who am I to tell?
Jimmiejo is so right, you need your company logo designed in Illustrator or another vector-based illustrating program. You CAN'T design logo's in photoshop, they are clumsy and un-usable in most promotional circumstances (other then websites and perhaps business cards, but even then, vector is superior).
I agree, the variations were nothing more than an effect and when you add a lot of photoshop filters (and worse off, default filters such as those) people don't take you as a professional.
For instance, look at Yahoo, MSN's butterfly, Amazon's logo, CD now's logo, best buy, etc. etc. - do you see a bevel, shadow, and all of then on those logo's? How about Wal-Mart or Microsoft? Do what the best do, not what the amateur's do.

Sorry
Unfortunately, if this is truly what the young entrepreneur forums are all about, attacks and slander; I want nothing of it. If anyone wants to contact me, they can e-mail me at zokeseh@dimdigital.com. This is my signing off, and last post on YE. Take care and God bless.

SS, I threw this logo comp together for you. Let me know what you think. If you like it I'll send you the eps file for business use. I think it's an improvement over your previous logo and whatever zokesh attempted to do.

Jimmiejo, that looks great.
And Zokeseh, it was honest criticism, not slander - you gotta be able to take that sometimes man and use it constructively or you'll never improve yourself OR your services. Stick around - you can learn a few things my man! We're glad to have you here...

I'm glad you guys pitched to this thread first, I saw it first but didn't want to say anything to zoke because he doesn't accept constructive critism very easily. Eric is right on the money about logos. Although you CAN design logos in photoshop, with illustrator's amazing vector tools, theres no reason to. A logo has to look good in black and white, on the computer and on print. Most registered trademarks are done in black and white and under a somewhat "weak" quality, thus they have to be vector to an extent. Sadly, Zoke belives his business services that are primarily poorly used and abused photoshop filter jobs give him some kind of status. I honestly think you "suck" and I'm saying that only because you aren't honest with yourself and you don't even take people's "nice" advice. This forum is a community, we give share and take, if you can't accept words from someone else you don't belong here, and you need to grow up.
Eric, myself and Jimmy have a lot more experience in this than you do, and i'm sure theres a few things you might know that I don't, that's what makes this community so great. We can learn from each other as long as you are accepting. Jimmy, not bad, not bad, very clear. I'm going to throw something together when I finish this site tonight. No watermarks either, I can't promise anything, but whatever I do you can have for free.
