Well,

I never asked for investors, loans or government grants on any of my ventures. So I never needed one. By the time I was done with my business, it was completely different than when I started it. Maybe i work backwards!

A business plan keeps you focused and keeps you ontrack. It acts as a baseline to measure your performance. But it needn't be long. I've written a post on keeping it to a page. You can read it here (template to download too)
