    Is commercial unit leasing seasonal?

    Hi --
I'm about to start a business (in northern california), and I'm curious if there is a good time wrt to season to rent a unit.

In the winter is it typically slower for landlords trying to lease units?

    Thanks,
    Greg

I do mostly residential but, for us, the winter is always a slower market. My friends in commercial have said that it's similar for them; though the commercial market in general is slowing (feeling delayed effects of the recession compared to residential.) It's looking like anytime in the near future, regardless of season, may be a good time to lease a commercial unit.

That's my gut feeling as well. The terms you can get in this recession (atm) are pretty amazing, around here..

The quick answer is Yes. It is always much harder to fill a vacancy in the winter months. Especially when you are close to Turkey Day and X-mas. Things seem to start to pick up in late January a bit.
