I want to start a T-shirt biz :)

I want to sell t-shirts! I know it will be hard to get noticed with all the current ones about but I think if I can make a name for myself... I can make it.

Right now, I'm just looking for a good printer with reasonable prices.

cafepress is way too pricey for an item and I want a better, dependable quality.

Tough competition but I can see you are willing to make it. Good luck! Do you have samples?

I think Cafepress is a good idea. It allows you to cheaply set up a store and get your brand name and design ideas out there for people to see, with an easy, safe, and fast way for them to get your merchandise. I would suggest that you start using this method until you have built up a bit of a client base and are becoming a little more used to how the market works.

It is kinda like when alot of new people start hosting companies they generally start by having a reseller package in which they can get used to the process of selling hosting. It gives you some experience and gets your name out there before you jump into something.

Okay.

1. What will make your different from the THOUSANDS of people out there wanting to start their own fashion design shit. Seriously, we get about 2 posts a day here....

2. Who is your target market

3. Why tee shirts! why not novelty socks....

Do a search of this forum for shirts and you will find a plethora of people who have had the same idea as you to start a t shirt line or website. And I have not heard of one that has succeeded - they may have, but I'm sure we would have known.

This is a hugely competitive market, and unless you have a really good point of difference you really have no chance of making it.

Im not telling you not to give it a shot, but at least make sure you give yourself the best opportunity for succeeding, by:

1. finding out where all the others went wrong
2. Creating a point of difference
3. Plan. (Failing to plan, is planning to fail)

well, it's not about just the t-shirts. I've had at least one website up and running since I was 15... and I'm 24 now. I've had more successful websites that I've known what to do with. I usually sell them, lose interest, or get too busy in my normal life with my kids.

hopefully, what will do it for me are my creative marketing ideas. after all, it's what I'm in school for and I really love it.

Okay, but still. What will make you different to the others out there?

There are just so many out there.
