Akula is right. The main thing you realize when you go to high education is that an idea is a starting point. It is the cultivation of the idea by a strong core of individuals and its transfrmation into a strategy and plan that is the bread and butter. Basically if you have an idea you need to do research to see if the idea is feasible. This includes information on all aspects of the business around the idea , and an analysis of the outside business environment i.e. competitors. Too many people on here think that thinking of ideas is the battle. When you think of an idea you first need to detract your overinflated opinions of the idea. Think logically, if you are the company buying an idea, would you pay thousands of dollars for a sentence in a notebook or a forum. No, you want to see statistical analysis and information from this ananlysis to lessen risk. Business is a battle of risk v opportunity. Accurately display how your idea can maximize opportunity and minimize risk and then your idea might have wings. Again it comes down to education or lack thereof, and the willingness to know that an idea while exciting is merely a beginning.

Ideas are extremely valuable because the potential for success is there for every spark of an idea (aka theoretical economic value, as I call it). However, it is both the analytical stages (pre-execution) and execution processes which says whether or not the idea has actual economic value for the entrepreneur.

But, the idea simple exists, still is valuable. In fact, Im sure there are plenty of investors and bigtime buyers that spend loads on just an idea (Well, not just an idea...more awesome ideas). YouTube was an idea, and the creators didn't even think it would be such a profitable idea for them.

So I'm just saying, as long as you are not intoxicated and have full to "adequate" adult mental capabilities, any idea or ideas that ur gut is telling u to focus on, stick to them. But, expect not everything to workout as kane357 mentions. The losses are fundamental elements to the entrepreneurial lifestyle, and its something we must endure and accept.

Me, personally, I look forward to them because the fewer the loss u are having as u progress, to me, it says the more successful u are becoming. Well its "a sign". not the signs haha
