Business Logos

I am in the phase where I better start thinking about a business logo. I am not familiar with Photoshop. Should I try to design it myself, or do these logo companies produce good results? Is there any affordable logo designers that produce great results?

dreamer,

A business logo is an essential part of your businesses identity. If you are creative and have some good ideas on what you are trying to do, take some time and try it out. It won't hurt. Logo design companies are generally very good at what they do, you just have to find the right one.

I suggest taking a look at LogoBlog - Logo Design Company Reviews and Resource Portal and reading up about logo design for a while. Then figure out where you want to go and what you are looking for.

And finally of course if you need any help with anything let me know. I can give you some pointers on your design or do it for you. Right now I am charging $50.00 per logo for members of the board. You can see some of my work at Creadiv Design.

Good luck.

I suggest you come up with your creative idea for a logo. Analyze what you would want your logo to symbolize about your business. Then sit along with a person who is well versed in photoshop. Take his inputs too and make a logo. I suggest that you be the best contributer to your logo, instead of totally washing off the responsibility to some one who is not at all related to your business.

Don't waste your time creating a logo if your business isn't dependent on brand imaging. Just use write the words and modify the font.

Best of luck!

Like said, you could create your concept but leave the whole deisgning part to the professionals, This will save you time and effort, especially if you think your designing skills are still wanting.

The logo design brand will be more important depending onthe type of business you have, but generally, a good logo is the way to go for every kind. Browse the net and look at prices. Talk to them and see what will fit your need for the moment.

If you want a professional business image, a image that would elevate your business from your competitor, I suggest to save up some money and hire a professional graphic designer who specializes in corporate identity / logo design.

Good logos are designed in Adobe Illustrator because it can be easily resized to any size needed. Logo design is an investment if you want your logo to last at least 10 years and brand your company

Just like people won't go to do $3.00 hair cuts, they'd rather spend $150 for a hair cut to look sharp. Same goes for logos. A good way to find a good designer is to go to a local bookshop, pick up a book with "best logo designs" or "American Corporate Identity" look through logos, who's designer style you like, look up their info at the back of the book and contact them.

Remember, cheap "logo designers" use 99.9% clip art from clip art cds and they don't startegiese your logo ideas. They don't make your company unique.
