Entrepreneurial Books

For the social entrepreneur, the Key Text is without a doubt Banker to the Poor by Dr. Yunus (he coined the term social entrepreneurship)

For entrepreneurship in general:

Entrepreneurial Imperative
Atlas Shrugged (inspires greatness)
Our Mutual Friend (satire on wealth, good balance to Atlas Shrugged)
4-Hour WorkWeek

I really enjoyed Screw It Let's Do It by Richard Branson. He gives some good advice in it.... And it is not a long read.

I can't believe this has not been mentioned. Everyone should read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. This book is life changing and has influenced me greatly.

I also like The World Is Flat and The Black Swan.

Hi, I know you are looking for books, but one tip that may help... is to take notes from your books. Make a word file for your books, get down just 5 to 10 nuggets from each book..bullet point them, with some brief notes, and then think about the actions you need to take...reading all the books in the world won't hurt you, , but if you don't write down key info, and then actually action/test the concepts, most of the info is lost....

I think as an entrepreneur I'd suggest Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath.

In terms of social entrepreneurship here are some books that have changed my perspective:
1.) Banker to the Poor By Muhammad Yunus
2.) The End of Poverty by Jeff Sachs
3.) Commonwealth by Jeff Sachs
4.) Blue Sweater By Jacqueline Novogratz
5.) Enterprising Non Profits -by J Gregory Dees
6.) Forces for Good by Leslie Crutchfield

Last two being more how to's.

Enjoy!
