Seconded. Read books that universities would use for teaching(the good ones of course). The books like "think and grow rich" are mostly for your mindset, they won't really help you if you read more than one of them kind.

My "to-read list" always just has one compilation: Psychology(NLP, cold reading, warm reading, psychology(behaviourism, personal psychology)

If you have read and understood those subjects, you CHOOSE your destiny.(But you will have to work hard for it )

My question is, do you want to get rich, or do you want to create something great (and get rich in the process). There are bazillions of books out there that show you how to repackage garbage and make money on it. If that sounds good, go for it.

If you want to build a great business, innovate, change things, do something that matters, then start by looking at the folks you admire who have already done it. Richard Branson. Herb Kelleher. Warren Buffett. Guy Kawasaki. These aren't just so-called gurus slumping around on the "GET RICH QUICK!" seminar circuit. They've done it. Started from scratch and conquered the world. And there are great books out there about how.

Read those, burn the rest, then get out in the world and start doing it yourself!

My business partner and I have made a habit of searching for many of the books named above -- USED! Every week, we find a great book via one of the MEGACONGLOMERATE sites that I sometimes purport to dislike.

However, sometimes you can get really lucky using Amazon. A few weeks ago we purchased "Rich Dad...." for only three bucks!! It was a little worn, but I guarantee you it was totally in great shape. Once we're done with the book, we start to lend it out to everyone and literally make them "check it out" via a silly little library system we have set up.

I'm sure I'm not telling ANY of you anything you don't already know...but for whatever reason this was a "light bulb moment" for both my business partner and I. Imagine how cool it is when you can amass a library of books that you've spent no more than $5 on!!

Do a quick search....see for yourself! We ordered a book last month for 50 cents!!

    My top 4:

    1) Ready, fire, aim
    2) Go big or go home
    3) The magic of thinking big
    4) The 4 hour workweek

I think that we as entrepreneurs have to read books on finances, marketing, sales, personal relationships/networking, and books related to your industry from people who were successful at creating similar businesses to yours.
