    Social Ventures = Web2.0

After being a passionate entrepreneur most my life, at the ripe age of 22 I've finally found what really sparks my interest; web2.0. I've seen the social and economic advantages of having a platform or application that is interactive, useful and creative through websites such as Facebook among others.

I think the web2.0 bubble is just beginning and will prob transcend into mobile phones on a massive scale, think iphone. The money pouring into all these new technologies and ideas hit record highs last year. I like to checkout killerstartups.com to see cool new ideas/sites. (My first venture will be launching in October)

I was wondering if you could list your favorite new "cool" or "social" website that you've come across or use for certain purposes. Simply list the site and say what it is so that other entrepreneurs can get use of it. Please don't list a site already mentioned...

    I'll start it off

Web 2.0 has numerous definitions. Basically, the term encapsulates the idea of the proliferation of interconnectivity and social interactions on the Web.

Think of facebook and the iphone...

Ever heard of "applications" or "widgets"???? these are simply interfaces that can be utilized on top of platforms. Web2.0 has completely changed the landscape in which entrepreneurs are able to do business. Familiarizing yourself with web2.0 and what it can do, will give you an edge in your business no matter what you do.....

I think Web 2.0 is very important to some certain sectors on the internet!

    eCommerce.... "Amazon.com a great example"
    Social Networking
    eMail
    Search Engines

I've heard of Web 2.0, and it seems I need to look more into it. Thanks for your posts. It made me more aware of what people are doing on the net.

I'd like to start off by thanking you for the link over to branddoozie.. Seems like a pretty neat resource! One site in particular that i have found very entertaining is TradeVibes 'i'd post the link but the system is not allowing me to' they are a start-up review site mixed with a great community.

Ive seen yuwie. The problem with that website is that it is too over saturated with ads and makes the website slow to load and I was turned off by it. A website that I think that is on the rise is Another Profile at PathConnect.com. It is like myspace but soon you will be able to post an ad that will not only go to people you referred to the website, but the people they refer. So if you have a big enough network, you can solicit a company like Coca Cola and get paid it.

hahahah this thread is hilarious. Web 2.0 is not a 'thing'. It's a way to describe something on the web that is fresh. It could be as simple as a cool layout... People may describe it as having that 'web 2.0' look..... Just means it's dope. Sometimes you people on this forum make me wonder......
