I would think it could be OK as a business but i think i am right in saying precious stones would not be high on people buying list at the moment, but it could be a time if you have the funds to buy some stock and get ready for when good times start to roll again.

You will need to be buying at super low prices. I have a large collection that I acquired though a government auction a few years ago. I was never able to move any of it on eBay. I chose more traditional brick and mortar auctions to move my inventory. Where are you located, what type of inventory are you getting, how much are you investing. I've tried this before and may be able to help / buy / sell for you...

You're going to face some fierce competition over on ebay. Unless you have a really good supplier, you'll find yourself in a hard spot. Take a look at completed auctions and check the prices of similar gems sold. That's a great spot to do some initial research!

I agree with ticky. Also as a new trader you need to be aware that people might think you are running a scam.. so how are you going to inspire trust? Might be a good question to ask yourself.

This could be a good idea, but i do not think people like to buy the precious stones through online. It is a human tendency, when you buy something precious you would want to see it by holding in your hand rather then only seeing on screen.
