im working on a idea and i need help.

where can i find a device that detect motion. example if you was inside a car the device can pick the motion of another car. if you get the idea? i was thinking something like the radars that pick up boats and subs.

lol failed i thought about this idea last saturday.

i recently got into a accident and thought very hard how i could have prevented it. i came up with a idea very very similar to this. Toyota adds radar to detect collisions | The Car Tech blog - CNET Reviews

would you guys still pursuit this idea? or move on with another. i broke it down to a lot of detail with my idea, and i did some reach and that link came up, i was so excited to make my idea prefect but it seems that im not the only one who was thinking about it

It started in 09 model Volvos which was pretty much a year ago. If activated the car automatically stops itself when near a another car.

Maybe try to find better alternative, but obtaining rights dont think so.

Some of the latest robotics can detect when things are moving & standing still, I'd suggest starting there...with the latest development in robot & radar technology or something.

It sounds as if you got this going, it would lead to cars being able to drive themselves intelligently.

I.e. Collision detection ---> lack of crashes ---> collision detection of humans & random road objects ---> viability of automatically driving cars go up (because cars won't crash anymore) ---> people invest more money into automated car driving software ---> Driving becomes computer-driven

    Just adding some thoughts.

If you really are pursuing this, then my advice is...

Never give up until you get it.

Ummm.. am I missing something.. you can buy a motion sensor from 1000's of places on the internet. Most Mercedes, Lexus, and Volvo's have had these for a couple of years. You can technically program a basic sensor to a level of sensitivity that would allow for it to only activate if something came with in a certain range of the sensor.

There is nothing new here to be done

These types of devices are already highly developed in Volvos and the new Mercedes models. You may want to hang this one up, and focus your efforts elsewhere.

Find out a product that already has what you are looking for and find the manufacturer

Wii remotes can detect motion, and they are cheap too.
