I might have hit the jackpot, but I need some assistance to collect

Hey all. Thanks for being here for me in the past. I look forward to being here for you all in the future.

Recently you all helped me get jobsearchforums.com going, and now I am on the move.

My latest debacle comes in the area of web site monetization. Through an email, I came into a pseudo-partnership with pretty much the best there is in the personal and social branding market. Until now, he really hasn't monetized what he has done. He is simply the best, providing solutions at little to no cost. He recognized my ability in sales and creativity, and he has basically asked me to come up with some ideas for new sales and marketing tactics in the social media and personal branding realm. And then, using my sales ability, I hope to get behind these tactics, and convert ideas to profit.

I have had a few ideas, but I am curious for all of your input. If you were working with the "best" (as quoted by the Entrepreneur magazine, the Nytimes, and Business Week), what would you sell? Moreover, how would you monetize a website that isn't making any money?

I am keeping the name of the other person quiet to protect his privacy.

    Thanks for your ideas,

    Sam

Monetizing blogs or websites can be tricky, especially if you're trying to market your own product. Typically you don't want to give your traffic a reason to click AWAY from your site.

On the flip side, it's a smart way to at least fund your marketing efforts. Adsense is one good example. I would attempt to locate products or services that are similiar to what you're offering.

    Hope that helps.

    Alan
