    Website help & critique

    Hi guys,

I've redone Home but I'm stuck.

I don't know what to put in the top banner!

If anyone can give me some tips on what to do for the top banner, and some general fix ups that'd be great.

Note that I am putting an image on the front page where it says what we do, who we are, etc. Just haven't found the right image to go there yet

    Cheers,
    Amie

If you go to Marketing Profs - Marketing Resources for Marketing Professionals then to "forums" you can get some free expert opinions about slogans and mottos and such.

It took me a bit to figure out you're trying to market a cybertipsheet for horse races.
It's nice your respecting your Dad by putting your energy into his interests.
Gambling strategies can be a lot of fun.

Since you are so young, and obviously a bit more intelligent than average, you could think about more reliable long term interests. I caught your mention of a problem with school due to illness or whatever. I am very sure you would have an easier time in school than most, regardless of any illness (if you still have it).

    Good Luck

Ohhhh... and Auzform isn't just a 'cybertipsheet'... it's a whole heaps of different products =] I am getting to that website soon. First is first =]

    Cheers,
    Amie

    Hello Amie!

It would definitely help if we knew what the site would be fore. In any case, try not to make the header a flash. Maybe a logo design half or two thirds the size of the width Plus images and a slogan.

Also putting in a short description of what this company or site is all about is also great as it explains clearly what and who your are, saving time and effort of the viewer.

Text is all over the place. I think it needs to be more uniform. Everything else looks good.

    Sorry I got confused there,
My first impression was that "home" was a template. I didn't get that you are cgi.
I'll just make one blunt observation, which is that the page has a cookie cutter look to it.
All of the text is kind of cliched. You might put images or samples up rather than words.
Spelling and syntax is spotty. intergrating In America its odd to say "The CGIDemo team are always " Maybe that sounds ok in Australia. ("Team" is singular here) "As well as this we also create" Similar. "We are a team of programmers and website designers that are dedicated to make your website as easy to use as possible as well as still look professional." I'd take that sentence to the abortion clinic. Run before the doctor comes.
"However, our pricing outweighs any competitor pricing you may find elsewhere on the internet." A well used cliche that doesn't inspire trust.
Is the lady on the page a member of your clan? If she is just an image, you could put up something more genuine. If your dad and you and your friends are going to be involved, then put your fingerprint on it. Lose the models.

I feel so sorry for the clients who use your service.

    That site is terrible

    1. When i enter the site, it resizes my maximized browser. DONT DO THAT
    2. Not valid Validation Results - W3C Markup Validator
    3. Its disgusting. As a web developer you need a good website, this is not a good website. Its like you have gotten a template and said, hey we are a developer! look at this nice template we got for free from this site!
    4. You have a service, which advertises other services on it? (adwords)
    5. uses tables. Tables are yuck
    6. Content isnt written well. Not professional.

Why oh why would anyone use that service?

You guys better ease up on Amy's website.

Amy your website has something in common with most websites. There is a lot of evidence that your heart is not really in the topic of the website.
Start a hobby site. Your hobby, not someone else's.
Then try to see if you can make an honest livelihood with it.

Your writing on your pages is overflowing with genuine charm.
But your enthusiasm for certain projects does not seem very deep.

If you are not sure what kind of project might work, there are tests you can take. Answer 100 questions or 200 and the test will say "You should market clicker training or whatever to the upside down population. The most reliable such tests, I believe, are based on Jung's ideas and are often called Myers-Briggs tests.
