The Publicity Wheel - new startup for generating free website traffic and exposure

Hi all,

I thought you may be interested in a new concept that I launched last week, known as The Publicity Wheel. I only just signed up so I can't post links yet, but i've placed it below:

publicitywheel.com

The idea is that users work collaboratively to promote one website per category at a time. The more you help promote others, the more "publicity points" you earn, which in turn gives you a better chance of being featured at the next "spin".

It is similar to a banner/link exchange, however it doesn't comprise of ratios, etc, and it's designed as a kind of fun experience for website promotion. If you do become featured, you'll likely generate a huge influx of traffic to your site, rather than the trickle you may experience with traditional banner/link exchange programs.

As it's still very young, i'd be fantastic if you checked it out and even signed up to use on your own website. It's still in beta at the moment so i'm hoping to test the system as much as possible now.

Hello there and welcome to YE! A very good looking site you've got. Is the featured site available to be viewed at the homepage?

Thanks for the welcome.

To answer your question, that's the next step, but for the moment you can view past winners by clicking on the "past winners" link on the navigation panel. As soon as someone's featured, they will appear in the past winners list straight away.

Cool

OK, now is my time to sound really stupid! I registered on publicitywheel, and understand more or less how it works, but am I right that other sites will then advertise in a banner on my own site? And my banners will appear on other sites? How big or small is the chance to feature your site? If it's like the lotto, I won't bother further!

Your banners will appear on other sites if you win selection at any point. Your chances at selection are based on your publicity points - the more you have the better chance you have. You will be able to see what sorts of points others have had when featured by looking at the Past Winners link.

Currently, with less users, you have a good chance of being featured, but you'll receive a lower boost in traffic and exposure. Later on, with more users, you'll have a lower chance but when you do win you'll have a higher boost in traffic and exposure. It's all proportional.

I hope that answers your question
