If I were you, I would make it easier for people to see what your site is all about and get involved.
Right now, you're just putting up roadblocks, making it more and more difficult for people to join your site.
For example, I went and checked it out. I was a bit turned off at the outset because I couldn't really see anything about the site without registering. But since it asked for my first name, I though, "Eh, that's not too bad," and did so. When I then expected to see a bit of what the site was about but instead was prompted to enter even more info, I just left.
Think others might do the same?
Provide people value and stir their interest BEFORE you start asking them to give their time and effort to register without any interest yet. It all goes back to making it as easy as possible for others to give you something that you're the one asking for.
Does that make sense?

I agree. I prefer to browse the goods before I relinquish valuable information. I clicked on the link. Once I realized I had to input something I closed it in less than 10 seconds.

Quick question. How did you build this website? How do you create a social network website? Did you hire a professional webdesigner? Or is there a website where you can buy tools to build this. I'm really new at this. Thanks

There are a lot of free or off-the-shelf software solutions. Here are a bunch:
Ning, KickApps, CrowdVine, GoingOn, CollectiveX, Me.com, PeopleAggregator, Haystack, and ONEsite

The site layout is professional but I agree with the guys above that you should offer maybe a little more detail before asking people to join. Maybe show an example of an account. People love examples.
Also we could potentially link to each other. My company specializes in the training of high school athletes and I was recently trying to figure out how my athletes could log their workouts better. Maybe trainhero is the solution.
My company's website is Three Coins Training - Strength Training, Speed Training, Workouts, Recruiting, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psych

Mine is completely custom, built from scratch. Good idea guys on showing what we offer, i'm working on it now.
the ones josh listed do help beginners start, but in general are worthless clones that lack anything original

looks simple but nice. Well, maybe just add some content which best describe your site's purpose, a sort of introduction.

Great site mate!
The tour is a great idea, my advice.. move the 'take the tour' image to the left more, sitting right next to the sign up frame. It will make it align better. Maybe also have a paragraph somewhere on that index page explaining in text who you are, what you do, mission, goals etc.. something brief.. this will also help with Search Engine Optimization I believe? Because at the moment, it basically is all just images and forms on the index page.
Also: As a member revisting the website and needing to login, the 'Hero Login' link didn't stand out much.. Maybe if it was something like... "Already a Member, Click here to Login" across the top-right..would be better?
All the best!
