Review my shopping website
Please review my site and tell me honestly what it lacks or needs. Please no smart aleck remarks. Please tell me if it's worth the time and effort I put onto the site or should I just get rid of it and start a pyramid marketing site or a site from a wholesaler like just lingerie only.
Thank you

Couple of things that jumped out at me...
From a designer's perspective:
You have to reformat the "welcome" image and the paypal stuff, because the proporations are messed up. It almost hurts my eyes.
From a prospect's perspective:
On the front page, I would like to learn more about you/your products... you should add some kind of welcome text that explains a litte more about why I should buy from you. Spice it up with some 'featured' items or something.
Also, I never saw any security-related features. A "Protected by Verisign" type of thing, or SSL Certificate, just to re-assure me that its a safe to use website.
Just my .02

Not sure why, but it was very slow coming up on my machine. I didn't wait until it was completed.

1. Agreed picture is terrible - welcome and paypal
2. Nothing hold my interest with a empty main page
3. Bigger Add to cart button. remember give your customer a clear direction to BUY.

Here's a quick run down:
1. People have already said this, but check the dimensions on your images, and fix them.
2. Remove the "PayPal Verified" logo. Put the credit card logos at the bottom, in your footer, and much smaller.
3. The top navigation should be mostly the static pages of your site, not the cart links. Links such as "My Account," "Shopping Cart," and "Checkout" should all be in a block somewhere in the right or upper right for easy access.
4. Instead, on the top navigation, include links such as "About," "Contact," Ordering Info," "Brands," etc.
5. Put the "Specials" link on the left hand side, and also on your home page, add a block where you promote special deals.
6. If you already have a site search on the left navigation, there's no reason to also link it in the header.
7. Widen the site a bit, improve the design. Add more pictures to the home page, and liven it up. Make people want to shop on your site. Since you're selling jewelry and accessories, be sure to add pictures of people wearing these types of items. People generally relate better to a product when they see a human using it.
Lastly, I like your logo in the upper left. Seems like you started off good. The site can have potential. I don't know much about jewelry, etc. but with a little revamp, I'm sure you can improve a lot.
Good luck.

yah man, drop this venture, it has no obvious prospect of success
you're simply not making any effort towards differentiation or competitive advantage
therefore, there's no reason to forecast for success

I agree. where is this going? are you marketing somewhere? do ou have something to offer that would make me not just go back to froogle.com?
Akula, have you become a rich drug dealer yet, evading taxes and ruining people's lives with heroin? =)

Very nice, but your banner "Welcome to Envydia" needs to be sized with correct constrain properties, it looks way off. Did you make it in photoshop?

Thanks I will see what I can do since the website has become almost impossible to maintain with Oscommerce and no support from them or the forums. I try to fix the images but can't because this was a template that was altered by someone else for me and when they stiffed me I wasnt given directions on how to use it. I also dont even know how to add pictures to the front page because of all these problems.
Can someone give me somewhere when I can have the same options as oscommerce but more beginner friendly to use?
