Please Review Our Website: Wine & Bowties

Greetings YE Community,

For the past 3 months my team and I have been redesigning our web blog entitled Wine & Bowties (wineandbowties.com). Originally hosted on Blogspot, we have recently made the transition to Wordpress while securing our own hosting for the site. From the initial presentation of the blog, we have added features and functionality to present our site as more of an online magazine, rather than a mere blog.

I would like to present the site to the YE Community, in order to get some feedback about the design, the functionality and anything else that comes to mind. Thank you very much for your time.

1. design is a bit too simple.

2. i am not sure what your blog is about. It is a bit too broad i think.

3. when i read the word wine & bowties, im expecting your site to be about high class / luxury articles such as nice tuxedo, best red wine, classical songs and stuff like that... and with luxury layout..

4. too much post in main page, maybe you can limit to 3 posts in main page.
If you want to populate your main page with lots of post, maybe you can consider to summarize each post and add a <read more> button.

Hello,

Perhaps add a color once your link is moused over to create some sort color effect. The youtube videos to me seem too large, and they do include a full screen effect. I would also agree with the user above and say limit your posts, perhaps have links to categories, etc. Maybe just have titles on the first page, with a 1 or 2 line description below. Also, I would include something telling people what your site is about, I couldn't determine if it was regarding the latest rap music, food carvings, etc. If it is just a site to share your thoughts on the world perhaps posting something like that when you first go to it would be more helpful.

The design is a good start - simple and clean, which is good.

You need to do some work on the logo. A nice dark contrasting background (with a texture, light effect or pattern), instead of the grey would work well.

Remember - you focus should be the content!
