Smile Please review now-snowboard - snowboarding niche!

    Hey!

I started a site three months ago about snowboarding, offering free video lessons, pictures and info.

I'd appreciate it allot if you took a look and let me know what you thought!

The site can be found at:

    www dot now-snowboard dot com

    Thanks again!

I can relate to the topic...been snowboarding for years.

I think you should think more about what you are trying to accomplish with the site. There is a ton of content (which is one of the hard parts in web!), but not much real direction to the site.

Think about what you are offering to the end user. Make it easy for them to find (and share with friends) The navigation is a bit clunky. Try to compress your pages into fewer categories.

    Hey thanks for your reply.

Thinking back I was too broad with the niche, and really should have gone more narrow. But at least I understand this concept now.

I am considering changing the url, and site concept to more of a "how to" site, and the current. Everything related. As this is a hard niche to get a hold on.

I will turn the site into a three tier structure in the near future. This will improve the navigation aspects as well.

    Thanks again,

    Sam

I like the how-to approach. People love How-to's!

Make that your main focus. People will come for the How-to's - but they might also be interested in checking out your other content as well. Just be sure to be 'true' to your main focus to avoid become scattered, again.

    Keep us posted!

I like the concept. I don't like seeing the google add as the first thing on the page.

I think this website is pretty awesome. You may want to try this idea. Create a flash page of a baby trying to snowboard....but failing "the baby represents the people who cannot snowboard"

Then after a flash of 5 days later a baby doing 1080 on a half pipe..lol.
I think people will be entertained and be very interested in yourself lessons!

let me know if you try out this idea!

    Hey!

    Cheers for the comments!

The nav's gonna be updated when i move to a three tier page. (sometime in July). I plan to split the navigation into groups.

jonathanfigaro I like your idea I think it would work well as a promo youtube video. Will let you know if I use it.

Thanks again. Do you really think google ad on the front page is over aggressive?

I would suggest some pictures of Snowboarding Closeups, the site has the look of a generic pay-per-click site. It has lot's of good stuff but I think at first glance it looks a little plain.
