    Please Review and Critic

    Hi guys,

I've done a complete revamp of my friend's website, Step Into The River dot Net. All the images are custom graphics work done by yours truly [I am admittedly an amateur].

Please review the site at: http://www.stepintotheriver.net

Your constructive criticism is most appreciated.

I'm not a religious person as such, but I like the design easy going and easy to find your way around which is what all sites should be like!

    Good luck Anyway!
    Regards, Chris

    ^Thanks guys for the comments.

I've made a new splash/entrance page with a photo editing program that has embedded hot spots that are essentially links.

    Check it out: http://stepintotheriver.net

I have to agree. This one looks just like a stock wordpress template.

The splash page has definatly got to go,

When you arrive at the site, you are presented with one page, which is not appealing to the eye, 10 seconds later you redirect us to another page. This will confuse your visitors, it shore did confuse me!

The stepintotheriver.com/blog design is not so bad, is it a template?

    Just my 0.02$,

    I agree compeletly with Nicangelli.

I don't see the need for the splash page for this type of site. You are not trying to display a product or entertain with a movie or anything. Your users will want to be directed to the content of the site when they put in the url. The splash page only delays the process and doesn't look as nice or anything like the rest of the site.

If I were you, I would make make it a link to your site where it says The CD Allen Group as the web designer.

    A little self-promotion wouldn't hurt.

    Well done overall.

Looks fine but it would be better if you change the header. Something cool to the eyes. you know, 'river' of life.. Best of luck!

The phrase "A ministry touching the DFW Metroplex" is not catchy.

Your "Home" page is the /blog file. I don't know if thats intentional.

You might rethink the menu on your index page. Finances are necessary, but including "donate" as number 2 of your top 4 will put off some people.
If it were number 4, the same number of people would see it.

Good links would tell people more about your church and the type of things you try to be involved with. Your "home" page has an empty links box. None of the other pages have the same box.

The site is attractive and well organized.

I say what a neat layout you have. the overall presentation is crisp and user-friendly. I agree with doing away with the fizzy image in the entrance page though.ypu could skip it and go directly to the homepage.

I like the new redesign. Very clean and straight to the point. Job well done.
