Pet-files - the world wide pet community
Hi all guys, I'm the founder of pet-files.com, a social network for pet lovers. It currently allows users to create profile pages for their pets, with unlimited photos, videos and facts. It also allows to create slideshows you can embed into an existing blog, or keep a blog directly on pet-files.
I'm currently looking for new ideas and advices to make it evolve and become more popular. I'd be also interested in establishing a partnership with someone that likes the idea, and want to expand it.
What do you think? Is there anyone out there who likes this? Thanks for your time and consideration, I hope to read some answers soon! Best, - Marco (Italy)

Hi guys,
the site is slowly but steadily growing the number of members, even if there is still no advertisement at all for it. I'm also not showing ads on the site itself for the moment.
The site results online right now, and I haven't gotten any report of downtime from the service.

Right now I have only 550 pets registered...but if I only had the resources and time to expand it with a "vet corner", forum, contests and more....
Anyone interested in a partnership, please contact me privately

Yeah fair enough. I think you may come into issues with the SEO, (once you get alot of users) but maybe not.
How do you stack up against the competition?

well, there's quite a competition in the field...however pet-files differentiates because it wants to be a localized resource in different language, so it's not only for Americans. Actually, it's much more for Europeans and South Americans, that's my main target.

I noticed that, mainly the blogs are all in different languages.
Googleing you, you come up the second page under "pet social network"
Not too bad. Overall i think you may have some success. You are much further than anyone else who posts their social networks or want to be social networks here.
There are a few users here who have experiance in SN, akula has been in one and knows alot about them. Just wait for some more replies.
Well done. Also, I dont think starting to advertise yet is a good idea. Just get a few more users, but if you do, make it very subtle. Facebook does that well. Myspace not so much. Myspace ads are annoying! facebook ads arent.

yes...actually one idea is to let people set their language in the profile...so that one user chooses a language while browsing, the content is also filtered, in addition to the static text being localized.

yeah, I believe the same
I don't want to be an ugly site just because of the ads...I think it would be more a damage than anything else...for the moment at last
