Need some reviews

I like you to review my latest website / project.
It is a business social networking site, but different from LinkedIn

I can't post a site yet, so please click on my signature to review my site.

Plan is to act global by local partnerships.

Hi there,

This is impressive, you have done a good job here . Did you outsource its development or do it all yourself? I noticed the dutch firm ten-ants developed it.

Small thing, this text on the homepage wasnt the most readable "(you have to register to see all features of Upperz, unregisterred users only see a glimpse, or take a look at the trailer)".

How did you come up with the name uppersz?

The design was awesome and most of the wording was fine too! Good job.

Ten Ants Webware is my other company, with locations in Zaandam (near Amsterdam - The Netherlands) and Jakarta (Indonesia).
We did however outsource the design, because all my guys are developers.
The name Upperz was in fact the 10th name in line, but was free on all needed extensions like .com/.net/.org/.nl and .asia.
Upperz is supposed to mean people who are only aiming to go up.

btw thx for the small thing. I just improved it ;-)

I got your PM inviting me to join. I went through the registration process. Now I am just waiting to be approved. First time I have seen something like that.

I checked it out and tried to register but waiting for approval

Can you tell us more about how your site differs from Linkedin?

I am in the process of launching a B2B social network as well but the focus is helping companies find cross-promotion and co-branding partners.

I have also an account on LinkedIn, but I felt that there was not much to do.
To be able to do the minimum, such as getting into contact with other users, you need to have a paid account. Or else you get limited in your actions. And that was something I thought should be different.

I see LinkedIn more as some kind of resume site, and not really as a community site.
My idea with Upperz was to built a platform for all types of business and professional users, with more (unlimited) functionalities as we already know from the personal social network sites, so where there is also room lighter business. It should also be more fun to get busy with your or other profiles.
A place where you can also add or read news, blogs and portfolios, and post job openings.

It was also my intention to put Upperz between business and private use, so in the space between LinkedIn and Myspace.
But as Upperz is still a BtB site, I wanted the styling not too loud and chaotic.

my suggestion would be to remove the "latest blog entry" section from the homepage. it takes up too much space and doesn't look right on the homepage. i would then move the other sections up (my opinion is your homepage is too tall, usually only blogs have long homepages).
i think you could use a nice navigation bar at top to make the site look more professional.
there is a lot of white space within your content box along the right and left sides as you scroll down.

again, just my constructive criticism.
