top voted lists: the 50 states in the U.S.
    Is this serious?
I thought the site would have useful information, it seems like its just a bunch of random categories no one cares about.

    Hi Joshua,
In regards to the top voted list being "List of US States", as you can see the number of votes for that list is only 3. The site is still very young and so not many lists have been voted on, or even created for that matter. For that reason some of numbers in groups such as "Top Voted" obviously won't express the views of a massive audience but only that of the limited few who have taken the time to explore the site.

it seems like its just a bunch of random categories
In a way it is a bunch of random categories.
The categories are very broad as the number of possible lists is virtually infinite.

Our goal is to get the majority of our traffic from organic search engine results.
If you think about the infinite number of possible lists out there and the number of times people type in "list of ... " into a search engine then you can begin to see the potential.
We're positioned to be the first stop for people looking for lists of any kind.

Also, the number of lists currently on the site is nowhere near the numbers that we're going for, as I said, the site is still in it's infancy.

I agree that at first the idea may seem a little odd or abstract,
but I definitely stand by the concept.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

My first impression of the site was that it looked like it might have some good academic stuff.
When I looked down and saw the "donate $1" button, the site lost it's spark. When I scrolled down one click and saw "donate $20" I closed the browser tab.

I suggest making those "donate" buttons smaller. And don't hit your traffic for donation on the first page, before they know what your site is. That's offensive.

The site might have potential, but hide your motives a bit. It is such a tiring and boring cliche that "we all need advertising" or "we all need to make money".
If you were selling young women on times square, nobody would care. But you are presenting information. There are many people on the internet who share information for free. They have credibility and weight because they are sharing not selling.

I don't understand the point. I mean, I do, but it doesn't provide me, the customer, with any value, as far as I'm concerned.

My feedback would be, delete those donate buttons from the main page.

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't realize the donate buttons would be such a turn off.
I have removed them for now in light of your advise.

I agree that the idea may be a little abstract. In a very general sense the idea is about organizing certain types of otherwise very scattered information into one central place where it can be very easily accessed and used.

    1. Didn't have any information related to the whatever listing you are trying to make.
    2. Don't see any reason to come back the second time to such page that display information without any creditability nor further link to them.
    3. Start up point or idea is good but the whole concept still need re-work.
