I like the idea for the site, although there don't seem to be too many listings quite yet (are those coming?)

A couple notes about the visual design:

Change your text font to arial or tahoma instead of times new roman. This will give your site a more professional feel.

On the home page, your headers and text are inconsistent. Make sure if you have multiple categories of information in one column that you stay consistent in how you present them, and maybe even use a different color for headings, like this:
Welcome to Inauguration 09 Rentals.com
You've come to the right place to find a place to stay for inauguration 09! Millions of people are flocking to Washington D.C. to see history be made, and rentals are becoming scarce. To begin, either search our listings or view all listings.

Also, don't bold all of your text, it makes it hard to read.

And finally, one last thing, take away the white borders around everything. It will make the site feel more open and accessible.

Overall though, I think it's a very nice design and concept. Good work.
