Hey guys,
This is my first ever blog. I really don't know anything about CSS or HTML, but I'm slowly trying to learn it. Let me know what you think about the post.

I may be asking for alot, but if anyone could give me idea's about CSS, or HTML in layman's terms, it would be great.
Your best bet is starting by reading what you can online
Try CSS Help Pile - A huge pile of CSS-related tips, tricks & resources. - Artypapers or CSS Tutorial
The design you picked is nice. Classic. You could add some logos to it to personalize it or customize it a bit. Make sure you fill out the About page so that people know where you are and looking into changing some things up with Wordpress once you learn some CSS or Wordpress themes/plugins. It will take some investment to learn, but the skills are worth the time.

I'm working on getting the site a bit more personal. My about me post should be finished sometime tonight. thanks for the feedback
Mayb it's just a personal thing, but the way you're typing kind of bothers me, and I bet it willbother others who will be looking for this type of blog. I'm talking about the n' instead of "ing" and the " Whatch ya gonna do" talk. Good luck though, just thought I'd give some feedback since this is a "review my website" post

I agree with brownbob. It seems unprofessional and many will be unlikely to take advice from someone using slang. The idea behind the message is good but if no one wants to read it the traffic will decrease. Good Luck.
Hey Joe! I have been through your blog and it's looking good. I like how simple it is. Maybe a little touch of designing, like your header and the side panel, would make it look great.

I appreciate the feedback, both negative and positive. I learn from both. I think I'm going to try the slang approach for a while and see how it goes. Trial and error is my favorite way to learn. However, am I doing something wrong, or does wordpress not allow you to add images to the header and such? Like I said, I'm completely new to css and html, so I may not be doing something right. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, I just finished my "about me" post.
Thanks
I don't think you can actually customize the CSS since you are using Wordpress.com without paying a fee. If you have Web space somewhere else, you might be able to upload an image there and link it to display on your site, but you won't be able to replace the images that are associated with your template or CSS stylesheet.
If you self-hosted with Wordpress, you could go into the actual code to change the header image. It is usually either under the CSS stylesheet or under the Header file if the template you are using has one (Presentation tab).
Any images you want to use will need to be uploaded to your server (requiring Web space or hosting) or you can upload them to a specific page/post using Wordpress' interface--which might still work even if you are hosting freely on Wordpress.com.
