Do the colors on my website clash?

Hi everyone, I updated the colors on my website. I changed the buttons and modified a few things. Note: I am changing the logo of me with the green colors

But, besides the green off color of the logo, how do the colors look? Is the black background too much?

I am trying to go for the cartoonish website look. It ended up looking like superman colors. But I really like it so far....

Any ideas or tips would be great!

Here is the website The Home Drop Ship Guide

    Thanks in advance,
    Lisa

    hi lisa,

About the colors on your website. You used all primary colors Blue, yellow , red. Sometimes those can clash a bit. Those colors are good if you want that cartoony look, but how cartoony do you want to appear to people because its appears very cartoony. I would personally stick to complimentary colors like the ones on this color wheel

follow the straight lines to find the correct color combos
I dunno. I guess it all depends on your target audience. How professional or fun do you want to appear? You did a good job at being cartonny if that was your overall goal.

Hey Lisa, just been through your site and I would suggest putting styles on your fonts since your aim is to make your site look cartoonish. Maybe fonts that looks bold and colorful. I think the black background didn't match your other color, changing it to light color will do.

Thanks for the ideas. I will put them into motion.

I am fine with the cartoon look on my blog. I am past the point of looking professional, as my readers know who I am.. I want to attract new readers also. So I will be experimenting with the colors in the next few days.

I was thinking a light grey for a background..Do you think a light grey would be good?

I will have a look at that color chart also.(Actually that link is dead. Do you have another?)

    Thanks for the tips.

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Go with white as your background... I've made this mistake before... I'm in the process of changing all my sites to white backgrounds...

Think about it... pick five large companies and look at their sites... see what they are doing

The site appears too bright to me. Its hard to focus because the red is overwhelming.

I have had lots of positive emails from my readers about my blog colors, lol. At least 30 positive emails and no negative. People seem to like the comic/business theme I started doing. Now what?

I was making a whole other totally different website and set up with light blues and whites.

I'm thinking, I will wait till the new design is ready and throw that up to see if I get any negative comments,lol...

It always seems to be the opposite that people like lately. Maybe I will start doing the opposite of what I like, lol. I do admit, I have terrible taste.

Any more comments or ideas are welcome,as I am still working on the new design.

    Thanks again,
    Lisa

A bit hard on the eyes...no clash though

I only think that the bright orange really comes out against the bright blue and may cause your readers to get a headache. I would tone down the colors because you are starting or have a home business blog and hope to have many bloggers who will be on the site for extended periods of time. Try less bright colors, and use more business-related colors. Look at business sites for colors used and structure.
