Hi. This is a joke website made by me, it's not a copy or a clone of another website. I constantly try to improve it. I would appreciate any suggestions and constructive criticism. Thanks

I will say "Good".
Here are some improvements that can be done:
1. Do not make the title of ads "Ads", do something like "Sponsors" or "Site Sponsors".
2. Apart from favicon, nothing says "This website is about jokes". Add a logo. Even a simple smiling face will do.
3. Why only Google bookmark icon? Add Share This or Add This Widget, they are better and provide lot of services.

I liked simplistic design but it might not fit well with joke based site. Do something colorful.

Ok I will try to make a better design and i will add "Add Share This" but i don`t know if google agree with "Sponsors" or "Site sponsor"

I agree...the site doesn't really immediately say 'I am a joke site' to me! Infact, it takes a while before the subject of the site can actually be said, due to all the ads.

Firstly, either get rid of, or just move it down as you need to make way for a banner of some sort which has either a logo or just text, so as to make it clear it is a Joke Site!

Secondly, add more graphics, again to emphasize the fact you are a joke site.

More design issues:
• Your current design doesn't really say funny...it more says: corporate and business. Perhaps this is because it is a template (I think!) but you really need something that looks like it fits the theme.

• A site description above the content would be good, just to welcome people and give an overview of the point of the website

• Different colour scheme I think would help make it more relevant to the theme

• More exciting background perhaps? perhaps striped?

• Too many adverts, it currently looks like your putting too much of a focus on generating income from the site and this would deter people from it. Perhaps take away some of the adds or work more to disguise them (ie. don't put them in the middle of the page)

• I wouldn't put the navigation at the top of the page...doesn't stand out enough. Perhaps put it under a banner if you decide to include one.

• Make more of the rollovers on the navigation text. Make it a more vibrant and outstanding colour that is shown when rolled over.

Think that's about is. The main issues are the way the content is organised, the amount and placement of adverts and the general design and colour scheme. Try to achieve something fun looking and I'm sure people will like your site!

fthom you have a point about the design and the ads. I will try to improve the website by changing the layout and the colour scheme and by adding some funny graphics. By the way, it is not a template, I designed the website myself. I will take your advice about 'hiding' the ads and making them less obvious. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.

solexy I will make a 'cookies' based function which will allow viewing the jokes by date, rating, title etc., ascending or descending.

I will post again after having made the changes. I would appreciate any further suggestions. Thank you.

•A Header at the very top of the site.
•The ads take up most of the space.
•Maybe add a "Joke of The Day"
