ActionUpload.com -- Clean and simple site.

    Hey everyone,
Seeking input on ActionUpload.com > Free Action Sports Image Hosting

Its a photo hosting website, catered towards BMX and Skaters providing a very fast and easy way to upload a photo and quickly get the BB code to post it. No logging in, no clicking around. Pretty simple.

I know some of the graphics are slightly off colored, I got tired. Working on that tomorrow, as well as new background images that will change daily with a new color scheme or upon a refresh.

    Thoughts?

If you could make the "the upload an image" and "keep it under ...kb" more visible it will be fine.
The tiling to is somehow not proper as I can see a distinctive cut between the two images.

Its a great domain name and i really think it will be restricted if you aim it solely at BMX and Skaters if you aim it more into a general sport image hosting site i think it could work better for you.
I think the easiest option would be to use the Mihalism script which is ultra reliable and can be made to look very good and its free.Good luck with it

Good domain and idea. I think you've picked a good niche.

<center> tags are deprecated. Use margin: 0 auto; on your divs and give them a set width to center them.

Try to use CSS stylesheets instead of inline styles, it will make it easier to maintain.

Get larger images for your background and don't tile them. Use this jQuery plugin to make them stretch to the size of the browser window, but still keep the ratio. bgStretcher jQuery Plugin Allows to Add Background Image to Page and Proportionally Resize it to Fill Entire Window Area. — ajaxBlender.com

Add a semi-transparent black background to a container around your upload field. The text there is hard to read as it is not contrasted against your background enough.

You shouldn't be using <br /> tags for your vertical positioning. Add margins or paddings to your items in your CSS file to achieve this.

Add some alt tags to your images to help with SEO.

Make the text fields larger when I've uploaded the image.

All in all I think it's good but you need to spend some more time tweaking the UI.

    Thanks everyone!

Wow, I pretty much forgot I posted this until I woke up this morning and had my tabs still open.

Pretty much that was all day at work, and I knew I needed to address some things such as a scalable background but I did not know about that plugin, THANK YOU so much. I will work with it and see what I can make happen.

No SEO yet, because I guess it still hasn't "officially laucnhed", but once it does I will be concerned with it.

I'll use this thread to keep updates about it so I can get some critique as the site develops.

Thanks for the very helpful suggestions.

The text "Upload an Image" and "keep it under 1024 kib" is to hard to read. It doesn't fit the theme of the site either.

I would just change it to regular text or get a new design for that text.

    That would be my suggestion.

That looks a lot better! The background images with the fade is pretty sweet. I'd slow down the effect, and also keep each image up for longer.

I have to agree with Bohlman on that image text. Change it to the same style you used for "Upload Successfull". I'd also use that style of the "ActionUpload.com" header. And make those code input boxes bigger. Width: 99% or something.

Keep up the good work. Any idea how you're going to monetize this? Ads seems obvious, but not very profitable.

Well, I have been locked out my FTP and cPanel account due to a feud with myself and the owner of the other link in my sig that I made.

So right now, I can't do anything. And I may of just lost ActionUpload too.
