curious to know your thoughts - just re-launched my studio site

    frshstudio.com

Here is my (kind of) brand new baby. My intention is to appeal to creatives, entrepreneurs (and probably more-so women than men) and ultimately have them sign on to be clients.

I'd like a general critique, but also I'm curious to know your thoughts on the copywriting and blog layout(is the sidebar too wide?). Are there any obvious areas in need of improvement?

    Thank you!

Your blog is ok but decrease the width of the side bar a little.

Your home page is not looking cool, add some more attractive ness and some colors to make it interesting. Whenever a user land on your website he or she only your logo that covers almost all of the screen space, so reduce it and let them also see the other part of the page.

Your meta also needs to be modified a little.

    Thanks for your input.
I've thought about reducing the sidebar width on my blog all week- it's moving to #1 on my to-do list today.
In what ways should I adjust the meta? (SEO is something I've only just begun to really study in-depth.)

There is a lots which can be done. Only the logo on the screen make the site a little dull. The font size and clarity is good but may be few pastel colours can be added. There has to be some capturing caption which would explain the interest of your site, the niche you have in.

The font really bothers me. It is a funky obscure font no one is used to, and makes it hard to read. "n" is larger than "s" etc. No good.

Your logo on the landing page is "OK"...however, the size of your logo needs to be addressed on the other pages. Most people will only read what is in front of them and not scroll down on the page, unless you engage them. (perfect example of the better execution is your blog page...your content begins at the top of the page and I was drawn down the page...but the font stopped me in my tracks...)

The font needs to be changed ASAP. It is very difficult to read. The font you used in the title "top 3 reasons to hire me" is perfect!

Your catch phrases are peppered throughout the site and are fun and well....catchy:

ready for the full fledged reFRSH?
I would caution one thing about your portfolio...You are charging a fair amount of money for your services. The FIRST thing I noticed was the "Flapjacks pancake haus" logo is a rework of your logo, and to a potential customer that may be a turn off (it was to me). If you are going to charge a premium price, I want to see new and unique designs that showcase your talent and je ne sais quoi.

Nice start....just a few "reFRSH"s needed and you will be on the right track! (I couldn't resist)

So you sell yourself as expert and ask our opinion about your own website?

    My opinion:
    - Big logo, which adds what value?
    - Big menu with services and work as last in the row?
    - Connect page, why is it there seems to be empty?
    - Talking about connect, why the social icons hidden in the footer? You want people to connect with you right?
    - Contact page on every page?
    - Where are those prices based one? A simple contact for more information or something similar would be better I think.
    - Wrong font choose.

What you do and what you have done (portfolio) should be an eyecatcher on the homepage at the moment it isn't. I like your idea of the design, simple and clean no bullshit. Keep that idea also in mind when it is about giving the visitor information.

I might sound a bit negative, I'm just to the point (direct) we are here to improve and become better we wont manage that by talking everyone into heaven

I like it, things look very creative and neat. But you should change so that the logo isn't that big, for the home page it's alright, but on the other pages you should put it on the top left- smaller

I would probably no stay on long on the site, there's nothing immediately to grab my attention. No visual attraction which is unusual for someone in your line of business. More vibrant colours , text, images to grab someone and keep them.
I'm not doing your site down only my honest opinion.
