Stay away from Dreamhost, they have had some huge problems the past month or so...i use them and they are terrible...check DreamHost Status and read the comments to see how pissed some people are.

My choice for web host...and saving money!

    hello everyone

My name is Steve. I wanted to put my input in here cause I don't think anyone mentioned the host I use. I use Netfirms and I have only had my website go down once for like 2 hours and they have great support too to help us whenever we need it!

I also wanted to inform everyone of my site www dot RebateRabbit dot com its a rebate site but its different than most. We're not trying to rip you off an not pay you. If you choose to use one of the hosts on our site and go through our site you will definitely be paid and you'll get the same web hosting from the same host but for much less.

Our major difference is that instead of coming back to fill out a rebate form like at most rebate sites (Some of them hope you forget to fill it out so they can keep all the money) with our process you fill the minum information out (only what we need to pay you) before you leave our site on the way to the web host.

    Thanks Everyone
    Steve

GoDaddy from what I hear/read isn't all to great either.

You want a large enough company where you know they won't disappear and be somewhat stable but small enough to get some personal attention.

I use Global Domains International for my automated blog, which pays for itself... and GoDaddy for my other needs where I need extra control and functionality.

i use hostican for my bigger sites, but for my smaller sites i use a free webhost thats in my SIG this free webhost is easily the best ive used, but like most things you pay for what you get and hostican is the best host i have used. but 000webhost is by far the best free webhost, the most surprising thing was there customer support was better than some paid host i have had over the years
