    .US domains?

I have 2 projects that I am going to be building (not going to say what in fear that someone will beat me to it) and I currently have 2 domain names but I'm not sure if they will work.

The primary project domain consists of 11 characters which is fine. The problem I have is that someone owns [word1][word2].com and is operating something remotely similar so I had to add a "ing" to word1. I fear that people will often confuse the other site for mine.

So there are .us domains out there that are perfect for my project but people have become so associated with .com that trying to run a startup off of an abnormal naming convention may backfire. Has anyone had any experience with startups basing off of non-.com domains such as .us?

    Domainnames

It's a fact that people associate .com with the Internet. But starting a online business doesn't mean you must have an .com tld. Every tld has it's own meaning.

Maybe even there's another name you can use. A synonym or so.

Feel free to contact us and together we can find you the perfect name/ solutions for your startup business.
