I have the same question as well. I can't understand how it is possible to resell 1GB per $1 hosting and earn something. If you know how this can be done, please, let me know! Personnally I can earn something when reselling hosting at my local market, but as usual customers prefer to host sites on the local servers not on American ones! It is very difficult to persuade them to buy such hosting! I think it is almost impossible to resell hosting at the global market!

At the global market, I don't know but look at the big companies such as hostgotor or godaddy, they provide reselling successfully.

Think all depends on the company you are with.

    Honestly.

It depends on a ton of things. Including the following:

    - Your target market
    - What you are going to provide?
    - Ruby on Rails?
    - Cpanel?
    - PHP/MySQL? etc.
    - How much can you invest in hardware/software.

If your talking about a big brick and mortar business it takes a while to become profitable but I would say yes you can.

If you are just talking about buying a reseller account with someone like godaddy.com then I would say yes as well. BUT. You must provide your customers with something.

I have in the past bought a reseller account for personal contact like friends, families and projects that I worked on. For example: I created a web site for a company which needed hosting. Instead of sending them to a hosting provider I bought a reseller account and just set them up with me. I gain some of the profit which would have been sent else where.

    Just my 2 cents.

Try Googling for more. I used 'becoming a reseller' and found a ton of good stuff.

All depends on the company you are reselling from.
Some of them are really profitable.
