In your personal opinions, what is the best webhost to use for a B2C Business?

    (First Time Poster, yay)

Basically, I'm going to enter the wonderful world of e-commerce, utilizing drop shipping (to get my foot in the door) and transitioning to physically stocking products once the necessary funds are collected. With that said, I do not own a physical storefront.

To give you some background, I'm not expecting to have a lot of business the first month, as I'm hoping not. I'm trying to get my business up after Christmas to avoid the holiday rush. (with our small staff, that would be overkill, and ultimately, the end of the company =D)

We intend to have polls, a forum, a music blog, video blog, LOTS of product pages naturally, etc.
Our website designer knows 5 Programming Languages but feels most comfortable with PHP.

So yeah, in your personal opinion, what would be a good reputable solution? As of now, I'm liking what I'm seeing from "In-Motion Hosting" but... go on.

It seem you will have alot of traffic.

We suggest to look for good space and bandwith ( not with unlimited ones) and with reasonable price.

After deciding hosting plan, Choose your platform, and install the zencart for your online store

You could likely get away with shared hosting to start. However going with a Virtualized server such as a OpenVZ VPS or a Xen Virtual Machine would give much more control on exactly what you can and cannot use.

You can send an email to a potential web hosting service and judge their customer service, firsthand.
I can suggest you to check pacifichost.com as it offers nice and affordable web hosting solutions. It has been providing hosting services for 10 years and I think that you will have nice hosting experience dealing with this company.
