Host Reviews! Are you looking for a web host?

I noticed quite a few of you guys were looking for hosting. So, I compiled a list of hosts I've tried over the years.

Shared Web Hosting:

Hostony.com - great speed, it would go down a few times every month but only for a few mins. They prob met the 99% uptime guarantee. Good customer support.

surfspeedy.com
Good and fast, but they canceled my account because I was using too much bandwidth, although this was way blow their given amount. So if you use less then 1/2 their bandwidth you're probably good.

dreamhost.com
Good and fast and these guys did not ban me for using the same amount of bandwidth as surfspeedy. The support however, wasn't the best it took around 72hours for a reply.

globat.com - Tried for a week until I realized that they did not allow certain core scripts to run (hostony.com does) so I asked for my money back and they did give me my money back (except of the setup fee).

For shared hosting go with either hostony or dreamhost.com

Dedicated Servers

Superb.net - amazing service and speed. These guys are one of the best, though I switched out because their costs were kinda high. The only bad thing that bugged me was that their was no support on weekends, and thats the exact time I needed the most help.

liquidweb.com - I stayed with these guys for a few months but they had weird latency or just server problems my site wouldn't load fast enough, I kept contacting the guys about the issue they said everything was working fine. My site was still loading slow so I switched out.

Server4Sale.com - very good support servers are decent, they upped their prices while I was with them so I switched out again.

FDCServers - very good unlimited bandwidth deals, but at peak times its very slow.

Softlayer.com - My main servers are with these guys their kind of expensive but they are really good, great support and speed. One feature that I like a lot with these guys is that during the month you can add 1000gb of bandwidth for $100 - this is very useful because with other servers its something $0.5-$1 if you go over their bandwidth amount, Which can be quite expensive. I've spent around $5000 in bandwidth overuse because of burst of traffic that I wasn't ready for, so adding extra bandwidth is quite helpful.

In all I would recommend softlayer as the top, followed by superb.net

Hope that all helps.
