    Free Domain Name Registration

What is your attitude to Free Domain Name Registration that some companies (marblehost, for instance) offers to their clients in their plans?
    Thanks.

That feature, I mean a free domain name for life which marblehost.com offers is entrancing. Think if you are using their services, a domain name to have for free is nice.

I see that marblehost.com provides many free features on their services, think it makes their service attractive for many web masters.
I think they move in the right direction.

I never understood the reasoning of using a small no name host for your beloved websites... I mean seriously, the cost of a domain is sooo inexpensive. And that site looks like a typical 1997 website. Just friggen use Yahoo, GoDaddy or Temple. There really is no reason to go for crap sub hosters who are run by a kid operating an affiliate hosting website from mama's basement.

My way of thinking is dont cut corners on either your hosting/domain or your website its just not worth it the price of these today are very cheap and after all it is your shopwindow for your goods or services and if i was to see a dirty shop front on the highstreet i would carry on walking by till i found a nice clean and slick shopfront this is exactly the same with websites

I also think using a free domain is useless unless it's an unprofessional website, but if your are serious you won't be using a free domain when you can buy a .com domain for 9 dollars for one year if some places, it's nothing!

All in all this feature which many hosting providers offer including marblehost company aims at attracting as many clients to their services as possible.
And that is right, any company wants to reach to that providing different discounts, free features and specials.

If you get your domain name for free, be sure you check the whois for your domain - chances are, you don't own it

About 6 years ago I was working with globat, and it took me months and literally 20 hours (between calls, emails and research) to get my domain information changed and eventually transferred the heck outta there!

Like others have said - don't skimp.... if you can't afford up to $10 a year for a domain name and up to $15 a month for unlimited web hosting, you shouldn't be trying to do business online. I use TUPOS Domains personally.

    Free is not always good

I think marblehost offers it as a part of their services, that's like a bonus for using them IMHO.
In any case you may not use it and reg your domain with a big domain registrar.

    Thanks for your input.
Think I will use marblehost service to see how they work in reality.
I have read many reviews of them which are positive.
